The cryogenic probe station is used to make electical measurements on devices under a controlled temperature and magnetic field. Up to four DC or RF probes can be connected simultaneously.

  • 360 degree in-field sample stage rotation
  • 1" grounded sample chuck
  • Probe travel distance of 2" on X axis, 1" on Y axis, and 0.71" on Z axis
  • Measurements up to 40 GHz with GSG microwave probes
  • Operating temperature range from 5 K to 400 K
  • Temperature control stability with LHe:
    • Better than 5 mK RMS from 5 K to 50 K
    • Better than 50 mK RMS above 50 K
  • Temperature control stability with LN2 better than 100 mK RMS
  • Horizontal magnetic fields up to 550 mT
  • Magnetic field uniformity:
    • 0.6% over 1 cm
    • 1.1% over 1.27 cm
    • 2% over 2 cm
    • 2.6% over 2.54 cm
  • Field control stability better than 5 µT RMS
