The B-H Looper measures the hysteresis loop (Flux, Φ versus Field strength, H) of a magnetic material. The pickup coils on this instrument are configured to measure thin-film samples. A four-point probe option (available) allows measurement of sheet resistance for characterization of magnetoresistance. A separate fixture allows samples to be bent during measurement to determine magnetostrictive properties.
Capabilities:
- Measure magnetic hysteresis loops with
- Field strength up to 100 mT in sample plane
- Low frequency sine excitation (1 to 10 Hz)
- 0.01 to 10000 nWb/division vertical sensitivity range
- Measured quantities: Remanent flux density, Br, saturation flux density, Bs, coercivity, Hc
- Magnetoresistance measurement using four-point probe
- (inverse) Magnetostriction measurement
- In-situ bending fixture applies up to 13 N force on wafer
- Accommodates wafers up to 6" in diameter
